DRINK COFFEE – DO GOOD – AUGUST 5TH 2016

When you pop into Waack’s Bakery – Stawell, Ararat & Horsham on Friday August 5th and buy your favourite brew you can savour it even more knowing you are raising funds to help needy local charities.

For every coffee sold, Waack’s Bakery will donate $1.00 to CafeSmart, an initiative of national grassroots organisation StreetSmart, which helps raise funds to tackle homelessness in local communities.

This is the sixth year that CafeSmart will UNITE cafes, coffee roasters, and coffee drinkers, during Homelessness Week, for a common local cause.   In 2015, 480 cafes across Australia raised $132,000 in one day to assist 132 local projects.

The new owner’s Rob & Sharon and all the staff and excited to be involved with raising awareness and funds for our local community. Thanks to the support from all our customer.

As StreetSmart CEO, Adam Robinson points out, grabbing a coffee and helping out is something we can all do. “What I love about this initiative is that it brings the community together to help local organisations. The support we have from cafes and the coffee industry is inspiring. Cafes around the country have come together for a national day of action with a very local outcome. So on the 5th August we can all make a special effort to visit a participating café and enjoy a brew or maybe two,” he said.

Waack’s Bakery is located at Stawell, Ararat & Horsham and open from 7am to 5pm. Information about CafeSmart can be found on www.streetsmartaustralia.org

Waack’s Bakery in Stawell is still riding the wave of success after their vanilla slice was crowned Australia’s best at the Great Vanilla Slice Triumph last week.

A gradual process that has in fact taken 10 years for the bakery to reach number one, winning the gold medal at Ouyen.

“It has been a real team effort reaching number one and I thank our bakers and staff over the three shops in Stawell, Ararat and Horsham for their continual strive to better our products and service.”

With the word out on Monday that Waack’s Bakery’s vanilla slices were the best in Australia, it started a frenzy.

“The proof is in the tasting, so come in and try one of our vanilla slices, the best in Australia.”
